Chris Copeland
Executive Director & Founder
Dr. Copeland has a specialization in technology with an expertise in cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, data science, and machine learning. He has written various articles on these topics and trained hundreds of professionals in cybersecurity and critical infrastructure. In addition to completing his Doctor of Science degree from Dakota State University, he has obtained several professional certifications including the coveted CISSP and several vendor specific certifications. Prior to entering an academic environment, he spent over nineteen years in the field of information technology.
Our Team
Our team is comprised of a group of friends from diverse backgrounds, brought together to positively impact our community through advancing the identification of human trafficking and through collaboration with anti-trafficking efforts.
Don Garrett
Engineering Director
With his masters degree in computer science, Don Garrett has experience with a wide variety of software development environments, ranging from embedded medical microprocessors, web services, entertainment devices, high availability databases, operating systems, and cloud deployments. Don has spent nearly 20 years with a variety of Silicon Valley startups and companies, almost always jumping to new and different technologies with each change. In the process, he has contributed to systems used by tens of millions of users. He is currently a Principal Engineer with Nevro Incorporated, working on FDA approved embedded devices that block persistent pain via spinal stimulation.
Dion Brooks
Creative Director
Dion has over two decades of design and UI experience. Having worked for numerous design, technology, and marketing firms Dion's expertise is evident at a national level. His talents for user interface, design, marketing, and branding are a welcome change to Juno Initiative's primary mission statement.
Mariam Copeland
Marketing & Community Outreach
Mariam has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oklahoma and 10 years of experience as a marketing coordinator. Specializing in communication and brand awareness, Mariam has a passion for nonprofit and community-driven organizations. She also has extensive experience in outreach and event management utilizing partnerships in the community for collaboration. Fluent in various social media platforms and technology applications, her depth of knowledge is a welcome addition to the Juno team
